February is a unique time of the year for the Smokies as we see two environments in the mountains that we don't often see.

The first is a very rich atmosphere for romance. One of the obvious reasons for this being that Valentine's Day is, of course, on February 14th, but the other and less obvious reason being that the Smokies themselves during the late winter naturally provide a romantic atmosphere. The crisp wind, solemn views of the hills in the distance, and even the occasional snowfall all make you want to curl up next to the fireplace with your special someone.

And then the other environment is one you might not expect unless you're already familiar with the tradition. The Wild West comes East to Pigeon Forge with "Saddle Up!" a town-wide festival of Western entertainment, singing, dancing, and even a Cowboy Church on Sunday.
